About flexiWAN

The World’s First Open Source SD-WAN & SASE

logo

flexiWAN was founded by SD-WAN, networking and IP communications veterans with a mission to democratize SD-WAN & SASE and release enterprises & service providers from the shackles of large networking vendors. We bring to SD-WAN & SASE the DNA of open source allowing for flexibility and vendor agnostic deployments. flexiWAN is built with SD-WAN in mind, with all of its features designed for the SD-WAN approach to the networking.

Our mission is to create the second wave of SD-WAN & SASE with an Open Architecture, Open Source model that unchains the networking software from monolithic, vendor locked solutions. We do this by offering an open source SD-WAN infrastructure that includes the vRouter, management, orchestration, automation and core networking functionality. Offering flexiWAN as open source is only one element in a broader strategy for flexiWAN to democratize this market, dramatically lowering barriers to entry for companies to adopt or offer services based on the flexiWAN SD-WAN Open Source.

  • While many vendors built SD-WAN functions on top of their traditional networking approach, flexiWAN was built for and with SD-WAN in mind as a modern networking technology

  • Each feature is designed for an intuitive and easy configuration and management, both in large and small scale, through the central management

  • Probably the easiest and fastest tunnel deployment out there! Deploying 3 or 300 tunnels is done the same way, in a few clicks because the focus is on managing a fleet of devices from the central management system

  • Auto full-mesh and hub & spoke tunnel creation for selected devices

  • Policies to configure and apply device configurations across multiple devices, eliminating the need to manually configure each site

flexiWAN advantages

Out-of-the box automation

When using flexiWAN, the goal is to minimize the repetitive configuration and management. The system is built to automate many features and functions right out-of- the-box.

  • Communication between tunnel interconnected sites works the moment tunnels are established

  • Multiple WAN’s are detected and failover works out of-the-box

  • When using multiple tunnels between sites, all traffic is automatically load balanced

  • flexiWAN detects internet connection types and enables quick and painless tunnel deployment even if the sites are behind symmetric or a regular NAT, all done automatically and without hassle

  • Thanks to AI based network healing, the flexiWAN system monitors network and tunnel instabilities and automatically implements corrections and recommendations (e.g. constant link flapping, network and routing failures etc.)

Open source, offering more control without vendor lock-in

A completely different approach bringing the DNA of OPEN to networking vs. the closed mindset of the incumbent large vendors.

  • flexiWAN is hardware agnostic. It can be deployed on flexiWAN certified hardware purchased directly from the HW vendor or bring your own HW (that complies with flexiWAN’s HW requirements starting at 2 Core, 4GB devices)

  • flexiWAN can be deployed on bare metal, VM or on supported cloud platforms

  • No limitation per number of interfaces, interface types (LTE, wired or WiFi), throughput, CPU cores or any kind of imposed or virtual limitations. The only limit is the hardware you’re running flexiWAN on

  • Control, allowing you to build your own SD-WAN cloud solution. flexiWAN offers end users, MSP’s and system integrators a complete turnkey solution with control over hardware picking and sizing, customizable OEM options such as branding and a dedicated hosting of management, as well as integration within your automation, OSS & BSS through REST API

  • The central multi-tenant management is offered in three flavors: SaaS, dedicated & isolated environment, and self-hosted by the service provider

  • Running on a standard Linux operating system allows quicker integration and new feature adoption

  • Open source, offering transparent development process, quicker updates of the codebase as well as faster resolution of bugs and security issues

  • Flexibility and modularity through the App Store allows integration with 3rd party products
